Diagnosis Of Glomerulonephritis
There is always a possibility of glomerulonephritis in patients presenting with swelling of body usually seen over the feet or around the eyes (edema), high blood pressure and decreased urine output.
The first test to do is urine examination for the presence of proteins and blood.
Blood tests such as urea and creatinine to see the kidney functions.
Ultrasound of the kidney to see the size and structure of the kidney.
Kidney biopsy to determine the type of glomerulonephritis and then to lay out the treatment plan according to the type of inflammation.
